Birthday Wishes

Mike's mom is celebrating a special birthday this year so we wanted to do something extra nice to show our love. Her gift was best opened in a specific order so I created tags for each piece so she'd know which order to open things. She also likes sweets and since it seemed inappropriate to travel across the country with cake, it seemed only reasonable to bring cake pops! This time we tried "chocolate covered strawberry" pops which means strawberry cake with chocolate frosting, Mike's favorite combination thus far!

Mike's Birthday

Mike hit the big 3-0 this year! To celebrate I fell back on an old favorite and by "old" I mean about 6 months ago! At our wedding, the groom's cake was a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling (because Mike loves Reese's) in the shape of a piece of Bazooka gum (because Mike loves gum). We didn't get to enjoy more than a bite of it at the time and I couldn't get my mind off it so I found a local bakery to make a followup so we could all relive the experience. This time, it was int he shape of a Reese's package with mini Reese's cups surrounding it. Soooooo good!

Christmas Eve Invite

It's our first Christmas in our new house and I couldn't be more excited! We invited our families to celebrate Christmas Eve with us and I whipped up some little invitations and packed up some of the pumpkin chocolate chip biscotti I made the other day. I also made some almond biscotti and threw some of those in there too. It's not too fancy because each little package has to travel across the country but I wanted to mix Christmas with fall (to prove I wasn't nuts and actually knew what time of year it is!). They should be arriving any second now!
